Stephanie Bond - License to Thrill

He wasn’t the man she wanted to trust…

When art curator Kat McKray is wrongly accused of stealing a priceless historical love letter, she has to rely on a sexy British agent to help her—no small feat when she’s his prime suspect. The man is infuriating, but when the stakes turn deadly, it’s nice to have a hard body up against hers…

She wasn’t the woman he expected to fall for…

Former British Agent James Donovan took this assignment to accompany a silly little letter to the States on a lark, but he didn't count on the trouble on the other end in the form of a curvy American temptress who has an alarming amount of secrets--and enemies. He feels bound to protect Kat even when all fingers point to her as the thief…and he has a bad feeling that a bulletproof vest isn't going to protect his heart this time!

Ohh.. how sometimes I just love me a cocky, sexy, and quit wit lead male character.. just like British Agent James Donovan!

I have been looking for a good romance-mystery book to read lately, and thank you Stephanie Bond for stepping into my world with License to Thrill. I have about 7 books of Stephanie Bond's that I have picked up for either; free or 99 cents on amazon.com, or I've found them at the Good Will - but I have yet to read one, until now!License to thrill has me smiling like crazy and laughing at Jame's funny and witty ways. He may not sneak past Kat's defenses right away, but that doesn't stop her from getting flustered on the inside and admiring him any chance she gets.

Leave it to a mystery to come up and who to be by Kat's side when she is in trouble, no other than Agent James. Even though he has his doubts.. he still can't seem to hold himself from not helping Kat out and trying to get to the bottom of her mystery of the missing historical letter.

James' mysterious infatuation with Kat is intriguing to me, along with the suspense of the mystery that keeps your riveted... the sex is the plus in the whole bucket!

This is definitely a book I will pick up and read again!

4.5 STARS!

Leanne Banks - Footloose (Bellagio Series, Book #3)

Think working for a leading international shoe company sounds like a dream job? Not if you're Amelia Parker, an overworked, downtrodden temp working for Bellagio, Inc.'s grande dame, Lillian Bellagio. But things are looking up for Amelia. She's just been given the assignment of accompanying Ms. Bellagio to her estate in the Keys. Trading pumps for flip-flops and a cell phone for a conch shell--could be worse, right? Especially when life on the island includes her very own mystery man--one Jack "The Shark" O'Connell, dashing venture capitalist. He dares Amelia to use this time to do something wild: drink a hurricane, go skinny-dipping...have an affair with a dangerously attractive man. Now Amelia will have to decide whether to step into that glass slipper.

Leanna Banks is back with another doozy of a book from her series, Bellagio. As you can see from my previous post - I had a roller coaster of emotions with her previous book in the series, Underfoot. Now with Footloose I once again find myself in limbo with loving the lead male character and sometimes being very-very fishy about him. Jack is a wheeler and dealer and is out to help  Amelia find her way in life after her break up with long time Fiance, Will.

I loved how Jack helped Amelia out, his flirtation and swag in life was off the charts - but then again he was so secretive and kind of conniving towards Amelia that it bothered me. But it was fun to read him guide Amelia into different scenarios and his immediate eye catching chemistry he found with Amelia.

I did like Amelia's character though and her sweetness about her. Sometimes it's nice to read about those charming southern belle's, but she was one that was afraid to get her feet wet (like a nude swim in a pool) but still dived in head first to do another item on her "to-do list". I found her character adorable and easy to read.. she was pretty funny at times too!

I didn't care how the book ended - but I think the epilogue made up for it.

I give Footloose 3 Stars with 4 Star love scenes

Leanna Banks - Underfoot (Bellagio Series, Book #2)

Bellagio, Inc. public relations genius Trina Roberts had been a bad, bad girl when she'd gone to bed with a recently jilted groom and wound up pregnant. She knew Walker Gordon wasn't looking for forever--at least not with her. So when he took a job overseas, she sort of neglected to tell him about the baby on the way.
Well, now he's back...and he's just figured out the truth.
Walker had been reeling from a very public breakup when Trina had offered solace he couldn't deny. He'd never expected the result would make him somebody's daddy! Trina claimed not to need anything from him, but he was determined that his child have a father; he just didn't know if it should be him. Because a father's shoes...well, those he wasn't sure he could fill.

I found this book to be a head spin... and what do I mean by head spin? I loved it, but it drove me a little crazy at times.

Trina Roberts and Walker Gordon have a one time hook up after the night of Walkers called of wedding. They're both drunk and wanting each other.. so they do the deed - then  months later Trina is pregnant with Walkers child, who was never told after leaving to live in Paris for a year to get away from the called off wedding drama.

15 months later Walker is now back - but has made it perfectly clear to Trina over the years that he never wants be a father... but too bad, he is!

This is where the head spin came for me - I loved Trina & Walker.. they were sex on a stick hot for each other, he was flirty, sexy and I loved him, but how could he be around his own baby so much through out the book and NOT feel an immediate connection with her? Not only that, but it was weird to me that Trina allowed him to be around so much, mostly around their daughter and wanted his daughter to connect with him, but knew all along that Walker didn't want anything to do with Maddie (their daughter) except be a financial aide for them. I don't see any mom allowing a father to just come around like that.

This book was weird for me.. I loved it and give it 4 stars! But then again.. it drove me insane with the predicaments

I still say it's a must read and let me know what your thoughts on it is? Did this drive anyone else insane?

Another continuing series is V.K. Sykes Philadelphia series, which will add Curve ball coming out in the beginning of May 2013.

In the Philadelphia series we first read Fastball with baseball reported Maddie LeClair and Patriots hot shot catcher, Jake Miller.

Following Fastball was Hardball that starred Jake Millers best friend and pitcher for the Patriots (and also playboy hottie) Nate carter who meets and falls for the new doctor in town, Holly Bell.

In the 3rd installment of the Philadelphia Patriots series is “Better than Beckham” which brings in a side character from the first two books, Martha Winston, the southern belle. Her story pulls away from Philadelphia and takes her into the world of soccer – where she meets rich, sexy and retired soccer player Tony Branch.

All three for these books were 4 stars for me and I enjoyed their reads and would definitely read them again (and will do- when Curve ball hits the amazon store!)

Don’t miss any of these books and hurry and ready before May gets here and Curve ball hits shelves!

HAPPY READINGS MY FRIEND!

Leanne Banks - Feet First (Bellagio Series, Book #1)

It's all about the shoes! Designing footwear is Jenny Prillaman's life, so getting the plum assignment to create a socialite's wedding shoes is a dream come true. Dealing with the heiress is another story. So is staying away from her dreamy new boss, a man too hot to deny for long, despite Jenny's best intentions of keeping her business away from his pleasure.
Making Ballagio, Inc. an international success is executive Marc Waterson's career ambition. But his life's desire is to find the right woman and settle down. Too bad Jenny would rather follow in his corporate footsteps than try on the glass slippers of a company wife.
At least Marc's got one thing going for him -- the way to a woman's heart is through a really great pair of shoes!

Feet first was a fun read to pass my time over the weekend. I admit that I expected more from the story and never fully got into Marc Waterson's character or was able to really visualize him. I did like Jenny's character a lot, she was funny, giving, sweet and pretty must said exactly what she wanted to - and got what she wanted! Marc's character though seemed rude at times... as in forgetting Jenny's name so much - and the fact that he didn't even notice her until she became "sexy" kind of bothered me. All together the book was a pretty good read though and there were times that I cracked up and something either one of them said - but when it comes to the hero character... I was more sizzle on his end, more flirting and sexiness... which I just didn’t’ get from Marc at all!!
I also wish she would have introduced and describe Walker & Tara more into the first story, to play them up for their book, Underfoot. Hopefully Walker isn’t as much a stickler in his book then he seemed to be in Feet First.
