Lori Foster - Jude's Law (Law Series, Book #1)

When it comes to love, he plays to win.

There's only so much frustration a guy can handle before he gets a little nutty. For Jude Jamison, his frustration has a name—May Price. She's everything the former Hollywood bad boy actor came to Stillbrook, Ohio, hoping to find: open, honest, lovable, and full of those luscious curves you don't find on stick-figure starlets—curves May doesn't seem to appreciate in herself. Every time Jude tries to get close to the skittish business woman, to take her in his arms, she thinks he's joking. Joking? Joking does not involve lots of cold-shower therapy.

Time for new tactics. If May can't respond to his sly compliments and sexy innuendos, he'll just have to spell it out for her. Jude Jamison is going to lay down the law for May Price. And after that, she'll have no delusions about just how much he wants her

Lori Foster is hands down one of my most favorite authors. I love her writing style, the love scenes and humor that she provides in all of her books. I have read just about every book/series that she has written and they are definitely books that I never turn in to my local Goodwill or Bookstore after reading... because I just know - I will pick them up and read again...as of right now it will be; Jude's Law and Murphy's law - Law Series.
For some reason I don't remember these books as much as I do her others... and I figured I would give it another go and see what I was missing!

And I can say right now... HOW DID I FORGET JUDE'S LAW? The back cover break down does not do this book justice. After I read the back cover, for some reason the story just didn't come back to me but by the end of Chapter 1 I already remembered how much I loved Jude's character. Man, does he steam up the books pages and ohhhh la, la are the love scenes delicious!

I thought in other books the fixation/attentiveness of the hero’s to the heroines were hot; this is by the far the steamiest of them all. Jude wants May – and he wants her bad! He is a big time celebrity/SBC Fighter (ps – LOVE the SBC series by Lori Foster and reading this book made me want to start that series all over again.. so they are up for a THIRD time go around) and May is a little Ohio town art gallery owner, who thinks Jude is messing with her on his infatuation, flirtation and bed makin’ hopes! She sees herself as a thick woman with too big of breast and not a flat stomach – Jude sees her as a curvy, luscious woman that he has to have… and when a little mystery comes up between the two of them and May’s trouble making brother – then the pages just get steamier and a lot more interesting!

I loved, loved, loved this story and the chemistry between them! I recommend for all to read… I mean, if you don’t mind a good romp in the bed- sexy and laughable book, then grab your copy of Jude’s law now!!!

Stephanie Bond - Almost a Family

Ten years ago Virgina Catron and Bailey Callihan had to get married, but they loved each other fiercely and adored their son when he came into their lives. Then fate dealt them a cruel blow when their infant son was snatched in a grocery store. Their new marriage couldn’t withstand the strain and when it became clear their baby would not be found, they divorced, brokenhearted and griefstricken. Virginia went back to college and embarked on a successful corporate career; Bailey worked just enough to get by and still parties too much. They haven’t seen each other since their divorce was finalized. They’re both still single, but they’re very different people than when they were young, and still bear deep emotional scars. The story opens when word comes that their son has been found…alive. Can these three virtual strangers come together to make a family?

When I picked up this 99cent box set of Stephanie Bond romance-mystery books off amazon - I have to be honest, I didn't have high hopes for it. The back story to each of the books just didn't grab me.. but I decided this week to dive in anyways and see how it goes.

The second book in the box set was "Almost a Family" - which probably was the book back story that intrigued me the most ... and I have to say, it definitely did not disappoint. I have never read a story like this. It was so touching, sad, funny and tearful for me. There are several times through out the book that I found myself in tears, but then laughing through the tears from the quit wit and help that Bailey provides Virginia through the troubles of getting their eight year old son back, after he was kidnapped as a baby.

I was a little worried about how Stephanie would write about a subject that is very difficult to touch.. kidnapping is not something I would normally want to read about, because it's very emotional - but she wrote the emotions, the roller coaster of their coming together again to a T and I was so touched by the story.

And that doesn't even touch the sexiness and flirtatious demeanourr that comes from Bailey Kallihan - man alive did he come off the pages as sexy! He may have had his "issues" but he still knew how to rev Virgina's engine.. I loved it!

I not only recommend this book for everyone to read - but I look forward to reading it again myself.

Jill Shalvis - Forever and a Day (Lucky Harbor Series Book #6)

LOVE CAN HAPPEN IN A HEARTBEAT.

Grace never thought she’d be starting her life over from scratch. Losing everything has landed her in Lucky Harbor, working as a dog walker for overwhelmed ER doctor Josh Scott. But the day his nanny fails to show up, Grace goes from caring for Josh’s lovable mutt to caring for his rambunctious kids. Soon Grace is playing house with the sexy single dad…

With so many people depending on him, Josh has no time for anything outside of his clinic and family–until Grace arrives in town. Now this brainy blond is turning his life inside out and giving a whole new meaning to the phrase “good bedside manner.” Josh and Grace don’t know if what they have can last. But in a town like Lucky Harbor, a lifetime of love starts with just one day…

Ohhh I just knew Grace Brooks and Dr. Josh Scott would steal my heart, make me melt and twist me up with JOY! I LOVED Forever and a Day and it definitely goes up in my top favorite books in the Lucky Harbor series. Grace is a go-getter kinda gal that had me rolling during her call waiting mix up between her rocket scientist mother and Dr. Josh - and I especially LOVED all of Josh's replies to her when she thought it was her mother on the line. I was literally rolling on the floor laughing.
Dr. Josh Scott is an over worked father to his five year old son and his handicapped, but hilarious to boot 21 year old sister. Anna (the sister) is such a big character in this book for me and I enjoyed reading her part. She brought a lot to the story and was a great addition to the plot ... and the way Grace reaches out to her is amazing - she keeps it real!
I also LOVE Josh's son Toby (ARF) he may not speak "English" too often, but when he does ... he too steals my heart!
From the starting stages of their relationship I loved how they communicated, flirted and saw each other. Josh takes on everyone's problems and wants to take care of everyone around him - when really deep down he is the one that needs the taking care of.  And to come into his life is a smart, beautiful Grace that is in Lucky Harbor to start her life over and move on and finally prove to her BRAINY parents that she too can be something.. Josh just happens to be that SOMETHING she needs.

5 STARS to an amazing story from Jill Shalvis - not only did she capture my attention but Forever and Day captured my heart a little. In Forever and Day you not only get humor, romance and heat up the sheets-burning hot love scenes, but you get a story that makes you want to never put down the book!

Jill Shalvis - Lucky in Love (Lucky Harbor Series Book #4)

Mallory Quinn has had enough of playing it safe. As a nurse and devoted daughter, she takes care of everyone but herself. And as the local good girl, she's expected to date Mr. Right. But for once, she'd like to take a risk on Mr. Wrong. And who could be more wrong than Ty Garrison? The mysterious new guy in town has made it clear that he's only passing through, which suits Mallory just fine. Besides, his lean, hard body and sexy smile will give her plenty to remember once he's gone . . .
For the first time in his life, Ty can't bear to leave. Helping this sexy seductress-in-training walk on the wild side is making him desire things he shouldn?t?including leaving the military for good. As their just-for-fun fling becomes something more, Mallory and Ty wonder if they could really be this lucky in love. After all . . . anything can happen in a town called Lucky Harbor.

Take one sweet, innocent "goody" nurse and mix her with one bad ass, sexy and wild Navy Seal and what do you get.. a sexy, hot in your hands romance from once again my favorite author.. Jill Shalvis! OMG.. I loved Ty. Everything about his ways melted me, excited me and made me turning page after page to get more. Mysterious Cut Guy & Mallory had so much emotion, romantic chemistry in this story and so much humor and I loved every page of it.

So far in 2013 I have read 61 books... yup, I'm that girl! And to be honest, the ones in the beginng - just weren't hitting the spot on my top favorites, or even close to it. BUT thanks to Jill Shalvis and some of my other favorite authors for bringing me out of my slump ... and thank you Lucky Harbor for having me OBSESSED. I recommend this series to everyone - what's not to love?

5 STARS all the way around!

Jill Shalvis - Head Over Heels (Lucky Harbor Series Book# 3)

Free-spirited Chloe lives life on the edge. Unlike her soon-to-be married sisters, she isn't ready to settle into a quiet life running their family's newly renovated inn. But soon her love of trouble--and trouble with love-draws the attention of the very stern, very sexy sheriff who'd like nothing better than to tame her wild ways.

Suddenly Chloe can't take a misstep without the sheriff hot on her heels. His rugged swagger and his enigmatic smile are enough to make a girl beg to be handcuffed. For the first time, instead of avoiding the law, Chloe dreams of surrender. Can this rebel find a way to keep the peace with the straitlaced sheriff? Or will Chloe's colorful past keep her from a love that lasts . . . and the safe haven she truly wants in a town called Lucky Harbor?

Chloe Trager has been one of my absolute favoite characters so far in the Lucky Harbor series. I love her caring, hilarious and wild ways! She is the wild child of the sisters and speaks what she wants, whenever she wants... and in Head over Heels - she does it specifically to one sexy Sheriff. Sawyer wasn't big in any of the other books.. so there wasn't much of a build up for him, but ohh how he melts you anways when he does make an appearance. Book 3 was amazing for me and I loved the chemistry that set off between then, and although they tried to fight it - sometimes there is just no resisting! The sex was on fire for them, the sisters were as funny as ever and Chloe stole my heart... as well as Sawyer! I think this has definitely been my favorite of the series so far, BUT I look forward to all the stories to come... even though none of the soon to be heroines have made an appearance in any of the books, well Amy a little - so we shall see!

5 STARS!

Jill Shalvis - The Sweetest Thing (Lucky Harbor Series Book #2)

Tara has a thousand good reasons not to return to the little coastal town of Lucky Harbor, Washington. Yet with her life doing a major crash-and-burn, anywhere away from her unfulfilled dreams and sexy ex-husband will do. As Tara helps her two sisters get their newly renovated inn up and running, she finally has a chance to get things under control and come up with a new plan for her life.

But a certain tanned, green-eyed sailor has his own ideas, such as keeping Tara hot, bothered . . . and in his bed. And when her ex wants Tara back, three is a crowd she can't control-especially when her deepest secret reappears out of the blue. Now Tara must confront her past and discover what she really wants. If she's lucky, she might just find that everything her heart desires is right here in Lucky Harbor

Tara and Ford's story was adorable, sweet and just enough sassy! I am a true fan of Jill Shalvis and all of her novels... everyone is so hard for me to put down and I always tend to finish them with in a day or two (and drive my husband wild with my non stop reading). Tara is a no push around girl, but to me seemed also very insecure. I loved her relationship with her sisters and her and Chloe's constant bantering. Ford is just a sexy character and I love how he loves to push Tara's buttons.. but also is so infatuated with her that the sex just steams out of the pages. I am LOVING Lucky Harbor and can't believe how long it's taken for me to purchase this series.

Jill Shalvis - Simply Irresistable (Lucky Harbor Series Book #1)

In one fell swoop, Maddie loses her boyfriend (her decision) and her job (so not her decision). But rather than drowning her sorrows in bags of potato chips, Maddie leaves L.A. to claim the inheritance left by her free-spirited mother--a ramshackle inn nestled in the little coastal town of Lucky Harbor, Washington.
Starting over won't be easy. Yet Maddie sees the potential for a new home and a new career--if only she can convince her two half-sisters to join her in the adventure. But convincing Tara and Chloe will be difficult because the inn needs a big makeover too.
The contractor Maddie hires is a tall, dark-haired hottie whose eyes--and mouth--are making it hard for her to remember that she's sworn off men. Even harder will be Maddie's struggles to overcome the past, though she's about to discover that there's no better place to call home than Lucky Harbor.

As usual.. Jill Shalvis brings us a steamy, sexy and funny romance novel. I have loved every novel of Jill Shalvis that I've read.. and am excited to continue reading the Lucky Harbor series.
Maddie is an adorable "mousy" girl and finds herself in the arms of the sexy well rounded Jax. I loved Jax and his character.. he was open, up front, sexy and funny - my all around kind of guy. Maddie and him just fit perfectly and it was right from the start. I loved the downfalls of the book and the rough patches... One thing I really liked in the story line was there never was a moment, that pretty much every book has, that they get into a huge fight and break it off.. and most of the time over mis-communication. Yes, were there little things that got in the way - but nothing that totally rocked the boat... just the bed ;

I can't wait to start The Sweetest Thing and read Tara's story.. but I'm really looked forward to book #3 and reading about the wild sister!

Kristan Higgins - The Best Man

Faith Holland left her hometown after being jilted at the altar. Now a little older and wiser, she's ready to return to the Blue Heron Winery, her family's vineyard, to confront the ghosts of her past, and maybe enjoy a glass of red. After all, there's some great scenery there….

Like Levi Cooper, the local police chief—and best friend of her former fiancĂ©. There's a lot about Levi that Faith never noticed, and it's not just those deep green eyes. The only catch is she's having a hard time forgetting that he helped ruin her wedding all those years ago. If she can find a minute amidst all her family drama to stop and smell the rosĂ©, she just might find a reason to stay at Blue Heron, and finish that walk down the aisle

I absolutely love Kristan Higgins! She once again came through with an amazing story with The Best Man. Faith is the girlie-girl with the sassy mouth that I immediately loved. She is a little naive as a kid but grows up wittier and classy with a side of sassy, that I loved about her. I really liked that the story went back and forth between the childhood events that happened between Faith Holland, Levi Cooper and Jeremy Lyons... even some of the other characters that came into play.
The best man has a great story line and I read it in a day.. I loved ever minute of it and never found myself bored.

5 STARS for another amazing book from one of my favorite authors.. Kristan Higgins!

Shannon Stacey - All He Ever Needed (Kowalski #4)

He won’t stay put for a woman, and she won’t chase after any man…

Mitch Kowalski lives out of a suitcase—and he likes it that way. Traveling for work has the added bonus of scaring off women who would otherwise try to tie him down. But when he’s called home to help with the family lodge, he’s intrigued by the new girl in town and her insistence that she doesn’t need a man. If there’s one thing Mitch can’t resist, it’s a challenge.

After a nomadic childhood, Paige Sullivan is finally putting down roots. Determined to stand on her own two feet, she lives by the motto “Men are a luxury, not a necessity.” But when Mr. Tall, Dark and Hot pulls up a stool in her diner and offers her six weeks of naughty fun with a built-in expiration date, she’s tempted to indulge.

They’re the perfect match for a no-strings fling. Until they realize their sexy affair has become anything but casual…

In the 4th book in the Kowalski series by Shannon Stacey, I have to say - she brought some of the heat back! I enjoyed Mitch and Paige's story and the taming of the beast that Paige had to do with Mitch's womanizing ways. She was temped for so long and was able to put him off.. which built up quite the story for them in the end.

In Mitch's story we were introduced to more of the crazy Kowalski family - being on Sean's side (from book #3) of the family; including his oldest brother Mitch & Ryan along with the younger brother Josh (whose story is #6). I enjoyed this side of the family.. almost as much as the cousin side with Joe, Kevin and all of their siblings! Even better.. in this new side of the Kowalski's we get a side narrator... Rosie! I love Rosie - who is the housekeeper/fill in mother for the Kowalski boys. She is so sweet and I love her little manipulative ways - while still putting the boys in check as adults.

I truly think Shannon Stacey brought it back with book #5 - and I give her back to being a 5 STAR book!
